This is a great story about a little girl and her diverse families. This story would be useful in the classroom today because there are so many children from different cultural background. With our country becoming so much more diverse this book could help children who may be having a hard time or educated the children that do not know as much about different cultures. I love how it tells about her grandparents parents and where they came from. This story will really encourage students to research their own cultural backgrounds and help students be proud of where they came from.

I completely agree with you on using this book as a tool to help children in the classroom who are having a harder time learning due to the fact that they are from different cultures. I think that we as educators always have to keep in mind that there are going to be children from varying backgrounds in our classes and we need to provide them with whatever tools necessary to make them feel comfortable and aid in their learning.
